Fatal on I-65 Indianapolis Woman Killed UPDATE
Jasper County-Indiana State Police Trooper Carl Hall responded to a single vehicle crash this evening where a person lost their life.
Preliminary investigation revealed, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2013, a 2001 Ford Explorer, was north bound on I-65 at the 226 mile marker (this is four miles south of the Demotte exit) in the right lane. The Explorer for unknown reasons, lost control, over-corrected, and rolled onto its driver’s side, skidding a short distance on the roadway, it then went off the road and rolled several times coming to rest on the driver’s side in a ditch.
The driver, identified as JOYCE MCQUILLER, 42 of Indianapolis had to be extricated from the Ford. She was wearing a seat belt but do to the severity of the crash was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jasper County Coroner.
Driver’s family HAS been notified.
I-65 north bound remained open during the investigation of the crash and removal of the deceased and vehicle.
