Compton Sheriff’s Station deputies continue to reduce gun/gang violence through proactive law enforcement.

On February 12, 2013, at approximately 9:00pm, Compton deputies observed a juvenile walking down the street. The juvenile immediately tossed a handgun. The deputies detained the juvenile at which time he told them he was still in possession of another handgun which was still in his pocket. The juvenile was a member of a criminal street gang and arrested for various weapons charges.

These outstanding Compton Sheriff’s deputies inevitably stopped a potential shooting and murder in the city of Compton.
