SUSPECT(S): Jonathan Damon, 30 year old male that resides in East Palo Alto
DETAILS:
On 02/06/2013, Damon was driving a vehicle that the Tactical Unit (Proactive unit designed to combat crime) attempted to stop for a vehicle code violation. Damon failed to stop and lead officers on a brief pursuit. During the pursuit officers saw Damon throw a firearm from the vehicle. Damon pulled over and he was arrested for the incident. The firearm was recovered at the scene and a records check revealed it had been reported stolen to Fremont Police Department in 2011.
Lt. Randall Brandt stated, “We are thankful that this incident ended the way it did. This weapon could have been easily used against one of our officers or citizens.”
