DETAILS:
On 01/27/13, a resident noticed several juveniles entering the backyard of her neighbor’s home. She knew they were not associated to the residence and she immediately reported her observations to the San Leandro Police Department’s Communications Center. San Leandro Police Units responded immediately and detained all four subjects involved.
When the victim returned home they confirmed their residence had been burglarized. Stolen property was recovered from the suspects and it was returned to the owner.
Lieutenant Randall Brandt stated, “This is a perfect example of our community being alert and working together with our police department to fight crime. If the resident would have ignored her instincts and hesitated to call, we might never have caught the suspects that were responsible.”
