Responding officers were assisted by Alameda County search and rescue dog teams in an attempt to locate the distraught child. The Union City Police Department activated “City Watch”, a telephone auto-dialing system, which sends out a recorded phone message to a targeted area of the city. In this incident the City Watch system called residents in the targeted area and provided residents with pertinent information about the missing child. The missing child was located later in the evening.
