Police are currently investigating two motor vehicle thefts that occurred this morning, Thursday, January 24th. at 7:30 a.m. The thefts occurred on Young Ave. and Cedar Grove Parkway and both vehicles, a 2008 Acura and a 2011 Jeep had been left running in driveways. Based upon witness reports, it is beleived that the suspects, 3-4 black males, arrived in a maroon colored car with no front license plate. It appears the suspects were cruising the side streets looking for running vehicles warming up in driveways. Police checked the area with negative results and issued a broadcast to surrounding towns. A follow-up investigation is in progress. Residents are urged not to leave running vehicles unattended and to lock and alarm their vehicles.
