Public Service Announcement
The City has recently experienced a rash of burglaries, 13 of which occurred during the daytime. One of the tactics being used is where the suspect rings or knocks on the front door and if it is answered by the home owner the suspect will ask random questions in an attempt to divert the owner’s attention so that the burglary can be committed.
We are requesting that any citizens that notice strangers around their homes, their neighbors’ homes, or their area to please call the police so we may follow up.
The department is addressing this matter and is requesting your assistance.
