Incident: Fatal Motor Vehicle vs. Bicycle Collision

Date/Time of Incident: 01/21/2013 at 7:05 a.m.
Today at approximately 7:05 a.m., the Fremont Police Department received a 911 call of an injury collision involving a bicycle and a motor vehicle in the area of Paseo Padre Parkway near Tamayo Street. Upon arriving, officers located a male adult unresponsive lying in the southbound lanes of Paseo Padre Parkway north of Isherwood Way. Fremont Fire arrived shortly after and attempted to render aid to the downed bicyclist (56 year old Fremont resident). They were unable to revive the bicyclist and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the motor vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The Alameda County Coroner responded to assist with the investigation and the family of the deceased was notified.
