The Newton Police report at approx. 1pm it was reported an attempted b&e (breaking and entering of a residence) was occuring on Temple St. A female was home at the time of the incident. Suspect was last seen running through the back yard. Described as black male wearing a black mask. Also reported he had a holstered gun.
Due to this incident the Pierce School was notified and also Temple Shalom who brought the children in and locked the doors as they were in the direct area of this incident. Newton Police K9 Dakota was deployed and numerous Newton Police Officers canvassed the area with negative results.
