Females Targeted in Grocery Store Wallet Thefts. Help Santa Clarita Valley Deputies Identify Possible Suspects. PHOTO

On Saturday, January 12th 2013, deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to three separate incidents regarding female victims reporting their wallets had been stolen. Each of the three female victims stated they had their wallets removed from their purses while shopping at various grocery stores in the Santa Clarita Valley area.

Following the theft of the wallets, the unidentified suspect(s) used the victims’ credit cards to obtain cash advances at various banks and to purchase expensive jewelry.

Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station began an immediate investigation into the three incidents. It was discovered a female (pictured in the attached photo) driving a silver Cadillac SUV with paper license plates, entered various locations posing as the victims and used their driver licenses and credit cards to obtain cash and jewelry. It appears that two of the victims may have been targeted because of their similar physical description to the female suspect.

The investigation has revealed that the pictured female suspect was accompanied by another person that detectives would also like to speak with. That person, who was seen in the passenger seat of the silver Cadillac SUV, is described only as a male black adult.

During the evening hours on Saturday, January 12, 2013, the female suspect and the male passenger met with an unknown person at a Santa Clarita Valley area gas station who was driving a black four-door vehicle. Gasoline was purchased for both vehicles using one of the stolen credit cards. Detectives believe these same individuals may be responsible for similar crimes in other areas.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Deputies are seeking the public assistance in identifying the female seen in the attached photo. Deputies are also seeking information into the male passenger seen sitting in the silver Cadillac and into the occupant of the black four- door vehicle. If you have any information in regards to these incidents please contact Detective Jones at 661-255-1121 or at [email protected].
