Four Injured in Two Vehicle Crash

Aurora: This afternoon police responded to a two vehicle crash in which four people were injured. According to Sergeant Matt Burkhardt, at approximately 5:10 p.m. a 2003 Honda van driven by 72 year old David Flanigan of New Albany, Ind. was on Billingsley Drive at the intersection of U.S. 50 in Aurora when he pulled out onto U.S. 50 to go east and was struck by a westbound 1999 Plymouth van driven by 30 year old Bambi Seabolt of Lawrenceburg, Ind. Flanigan suffered a minor head injury but refused transport to the hospital. Seabolt complained of pain in her chest and was transported to Dearborn County Hospital (DCH). Also transported to DCH were six year old Jacob Kirby and nine year old Derick Kirby with minor injuries. In addition, a one year old and three year old were transported to DCH with no visible injuries but only as a precaution. All children were in the 1999 Plymouth van. According to Sgt. Burkhardt, none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening. The crash had westbound traffic on U.S. 50 backed up east of S.R. 48 in Lawrenceburg for about 45 minutes while emergency crews cleared the scene.

Sgt. Burkhardt was assisted at the scene by Aurora Police, Aurora Fire Department, and Aurora Life Squad. The crash remains under investigation.
