SMPD Detectives Need the Community’s Help – Robbery Investigation
Friday, December 31st – about 9:30 pm:
A 57 year-old Male Burlingame Resident was accosted by two suspects while he stood in the area of the northbound bus stop on El Camino Real at 37th Ave. in San Mateo. Both suspects wore ski-masks and one of the suspects was armed with a knife. The victim was robbed of some belongings, but not injured. SMPD was unable to receive the information about this crime until the following day.
SMPD Detectives are looking for community assistance in this case.
• This incident occurred on Monday evening, New Year’s Eve, at about 9:30 pm.
• The location of the incident was the area of the northbound bus stop at the northeast corner of the intersection of 37th Ave. and El Camino Real. 37th Ave. is the first controlled intersection on El Camino between Hillsdale Boulevard and the Belmont border.
• The suspects in this case were two male suspects wearing ski masks – both subjects were of medium height and build, and were wearing baggy jeans.
• A dark colored vehicle may have been associated with the suspects – the vehicle was last seen headed south (towards Belmont) on El Camino Real.
