On December 22, 2012, Century Station hosted its Annual Holiday Extravaganza and Toy Drive. The event was made possible due in large part to the response from the community.
Those who donated to the toy drive included Century Station, Operation Safe Streets Bureau, Transit Services Bureau, Macedonia Baptist Church in Watts, Resurrection Life Center in Lynwood, Fellowship Baptist Church in Willowbrook, Southern California Air Gas Company in Lynwood, City of Lynwood, United Peace Officers Against Crime, Inner City Child Development & Youth Foundation, Inc, and the Faithful Service Missionary Baptist Church.
Approximately 2,500 new unwrapped toys valued at $10 or more were collected then distributed by patrol units in every community served by Century Station. Toys were also distributed during toy give-aways at the Holiday Extravaganza, the Boxing Center Christmas Dinner, the Youth Activities League Christmas Dinner, and at the Crime Prevention Center’s Toy Give-A-Way located inside the Kenneth Hahn Shopping Plaza in Willowbrook.
Century Station extends its sincerest thanks to all those who participated in the event to help brighten the holidays for the children served in our area.
