Advisory

UPDATE Crash on I-65 Northbound near the 174 mm

Indiana State Police at Lafayette are currently working two crashes at the 174 mm northbound. One involves a semi tractor – car hauler. The trailer with the cars has overturned and lost some vehicles from its load. The other is a multiple vehicle crash at the same location involving at least one other semi-tractor and several smaller vehicles and passenger cars. There are NO injuries affiliated with these crashes. The Interstate was blocked for approximately 30 minutes. One lane is currently open at this scene.

The Indiana State Police stress to the motoring public that attempting to drive in these conditions and take photographs at the same time is dangerous. Troopers have reported seeing several drivers past them and attempt to take photographs. This not only slows other traffic down but puts them and the officers at the scene in danger. Please don’t do anything but concentrate on your driving. Pay attention to the road in front of you, the vehicles traveling near you and be aware for Troopers, wrecker drivers and other victims in the area. Looking at the crash and taking pictures is dangerous for everyone.
