UPDATE: Crash on I-65 near the 179 mm closes the Interstate

One lane of I-65 southbound near the 179 mm is now open and traffic is moving slowly. Expect it to take in excess of two hours to clear the back-up of traffic from this incident. Troopers will be checking the area for anyone stranded or out of gas in the back up.

Traffic will be moving slowly in this area as Troopers and wrecker crews work to clear the remaining vehicles.

Drive slowly.

The Indiana State Police encourage you to not travel during this storm unless it is necessary. It may take a great deal of time to respond to assist you if you become stranded.

Always make sure your vehicle has at least ½ tank of fuel anytime you travel in winter. You may become stranded or stopped because of events like this and have to wait for long periods of time.

Be safe…..
