WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT THE AREA LATE TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING,

A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER MISSISSIPPI THIS EVENING WILL MOVE NORTHEAST TO VIRGINIA BY WEDNESDAY EVENING. SNOW WILL EXPAND NORTHWARD THROUGH NORTHERN INDIANA AND INTO NORTHWEST OHIO LATE TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING, AND OVERSPREAD SOUTH CENTRAL LOWER MICHIGAN BY MID TO LATE MORNING WEDNESDAY. THE SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BE MODERATE TO HEAVY AT TIMES ON WEDNESDAY, ESPECIALLY ALONG AND SOUTHEAST OF THE ROUTE 24 CORRIDOR, BEFORE QUICKLY DIMINISHING IN INTENSITY WEDNESDAY NIGHT. IN ADDITION TO
THE SNOW, NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE UP TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 30 AND 35 MPH, RESULTING IN AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES.

* SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA FROM THE SOUTH BEGINNING EARLY
WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE SNOW WILL BECOME MODERATE TO HEAVY AT
TIMES BY MIDDAY WEDNESDAY. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 7
INCHES ARE EXPECTED BY LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT, WITH THE
HEAVIEST SNOWFALL AMOUNTS ALONG AND SOUTH OF HARTFORD CITY
INDIANA TO OTTAWA OHIO LINE. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL
DURING THE DAY WEDNESDAY. IN ADDITION, NORTHEAST WINDS WILL
INCREASE TO 25 MPH BY EARLY WEDNESDAY, WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 30
AND 35 MPH THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* THE COMBINATION OF SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL RESULT IN AREAS
OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW, ALONG WITH REDUCED VISIBILITIES
AT TIMES.
