Arrests over Thanksgiving Weekend Result in Recovered Property for Burglary Victims

Deputies from the Century Sheriff’s Station responded to several burglary calls on the 3400 block of Norton Avenue, in the city of Lynwood, over the Thanksgiving weekend. Residents reported numerous items as being stolen, from vehicle parts and accessories to gardening and landscaping tools.

After receiving information as to who a possible suspect was and where the items may have been taken to, deputies responded to a nearby apartment carport and observed two male Hispanics standing near the stolen property. The two men live at the apartment complex and permission was given to search their apartment. Lying on the living room floor of the apartment were dozens of items that had been stolen from other locations and brought to the apartment.

It was learned that the suspects would bring random tools to the apartment with the intent of selling the items. In all, three people were arrested for having knowingly received stolen property.

While conducting their investigation, deputies were contacted by other citizens who stated they had items stolen from them as well and were later able to recover their property. Some of the items located in the apartment included personal identification from a victim in the city of South Gate. It is believed that the suspects may have gone to neighboring communities to commit their crimes as well.

Much of the property has been reunited with its rightful owner; however, some property remains unclaimed. If you were the victim of a burglary in the Lynwood area and believe your property is depicted in these photos, please contact Detective Jove of Century Sheriff’s Station at 323-568-4800.
