On Wednesday, November 21, 2012, DEMETRIUS EDWARDS and BRYANT ROYSTER, both Detroit residents, were charged with homicide for the death of Cedell Leverett, who was fatally shot at Eastland Mall on September 24, 2010. Both EDWARDS and ROYSTER are currently incarcerated with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) for other violent felony convictions to include Assault with Intent to Murder and Armed Robbery. EDWARDS and ROYSTER were remanded without bond to the MDOC pending their Harper Woods court proceedings for:
COUNT 1-FELONY MURDER, LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE.
COUNT 2-MURDER-FIRST DEGREE, LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE.
A Preliminary Examination has been scheduled for December 05, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in 32-A District Court.
