Subject: Felony OWI Arrest
At approximately 1:00 am on Sunday, November 18th, a Sun Prairie officer observed a vehicle driving in excess of the speed limit on W. Main St. near Flint St. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and contact was made with the driver who was identified as Gaston D. Heredia. Heredia, age 31 of Waterloo, was subsequently arrested for OWI-4th Offense. Because this offense occurred within 5 years of a third OWI conviction, the resulting charge is a felony. He was booked into the Dane County Jail on the felony OWI charge as well as being cited for speeding.
Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
