On Saturday, November 10, 2012, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives responded to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, 8700 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the 5:30 AM death of an 89 year-old man who was assaulted on an MTA bus in Culver City near the intersection of Venice Boulevard and Main Street on October 21, 2012.

Luke Schoedel, a 35 year-old male suspect, was arrested at the scene for Felony Assault and Felony Elder Abuse and remains in custody in the Los Angeles County jail on $80,000.00 bail.

On November 6, 2012, the victim was admitted to the hospital. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of death and whether the victim’s injuries sustained in the assault were the cause of his death.
