One Arrested following Pursuit
Bartholomew County: A high speed pursuit early this morning resulted in the arrest of a Columbus man on multiple charges. According to Trooper Korry Clark, at approximately 2:45 this morning he was behind a 2001 Lexus on S.R. 46 in Columbus and he noticed the vehicle was driving erratically weaving from lane to lane. The vehicle entered I-65 northbound then sped up to approximately 90 mph as Tpr. Clark activated his emergency lights in an attempt to make a traffic stop. At this point the driver increased his speed to approximately 140 mph as he continued northbound on I-65. The Lexus then exited at Exit 80 (Edinburgh exit) and at the bottom of the ramp at S.R. 252 the driver lost control and the vehicle went into a field where it became stuck. Tpr. Clark took the driver into custody without further incident. Arrested was 25 year old David A. Miller of Columbus. Miller was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he is facing charges of Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle (Class D Felony), Driving While Intoxicated (Class D Felony), Reckless Driving, and Speeding 140/70.
Clark was assisted by Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputies and Edinburgh Police Department.
Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
