The Mayor and Police Chief have been in conference with JCP&L regarding power restoration in Far Hills. The damage to our power system is tremendous. The work that needs to be done is coming but slowly. JCP&L is assigning crews to our area however the repairs will not be started for days.
Everyone needs to prepare to be without power for an extended period of time in the outlying areas. We do not expect power to be restored to the rest of the village for at least several more days or longer.
We want you to know that we are keeping pressure on the power company and we are doing our best to help our residents. The task is enormous without enough crews to do the work.
Again please prepare for the storm coming on Wednesday which appears to be forecast for snow. Do not wait, prepare you generators and families now.
Water, heat and a shower is available at the Far Hills Police Department 6 Prospect Street. Our court room is available for charging electronic devices.
