Norton Shores Trick or Treating will be held from 6-8pm. Here are some safety tips.
This year Trick or Treating will be held between 6 - 8 pm. Below are some basic safety tips for children and parents. Have fun and please be safe!!
- Wear reflective costumes or utilize reflective tape on costumes to make yourself more visible
- Use a flashlight to help be seen by others
- Do not wear masks that cover your eyes or make it difficult to see
- Never Trick or Treat alone. Go with friends or family
- Trick or Treat in a neighborhood you are familiar with
- Never go into a home unless you are with a trusted adult
- Make sure to stop and look both ways before crossing a street. Do not chase after friends without stopping to look to see if cars coming first
- If possible, always walk on a sidewalk
- Only Trick or Treat at homes with their porch lights on
- Do not eat candy that is already opened
- Have your parents go through your candy before you eat it
- Do not damage other’s property
- If you are lost, stay where you are or approach another parent that is with children
Parents:
Please walk with your children while they Trick or Treat. Do not follow in a vehicle. Following in a vehicle makes it very difficult and dangerous for other children to cross the street.
