HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – October 13, 2012 –On October 13, 2012 at approximately 5:30 AM Hollister Police Investigators discovered the body of a deceased female at the residence of David Jose Quiroz (30 yrs). It is presumed that the body is that of missing person Heather Carroll, although official coroner identification is pending.
The family of Heather Carroll has been notified of the discovery at the suspect’s residence.
The Hollister Police Department wishes to express our deepest condolences to the victim’s family, friends and community volunteers.
During interviews, Quiroz directed investigators to the location of the female body at his residence. Quiroz told investigators that the victim died Wednesday morning (October 10, 2012) after he and the victim got into an argument at his residence. Quiroz has been arrested for 187 PC – Murder, Quiroz has been booked into San Benito County Jail.
It should be noted that Investigators discovered that Quiroz participated in one of the many citizen group sponsored regional searches for the victim on Thursday (October 11, 2012).
San Benito County Search and Rescue Unit will continue their operations today as a part of this investigation to assist in the possible location of evidence. Forensic experts with the Department of Justice will be processing the crime scene for evidence.
