On October 10, 2012, at approximately 1:30 P.M., Malibu/Lost Hills Station Deputies responded to 31200 block of Lobo Canyon Road, Unincorporated area of Agoura, regarding a “Keep the Peace” call. The homeowner of the location requested Sheriff’s personnel to stand-by while a realtor, along with an appraiser accessed the location. Apparently, there had been prior disputes between the residents and the homeowner.

When the realtor opened the door to enter into the residence, deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the interior. While walking through the residence, deputies saw several dried marijuana plants inside. After further investigation, deputies located a marijuana grow in the rear portion of the property. Narcotics Bureau was notified, responded and a search warrant was subsequently obtained.

The marijuana grow was a “make-shift” green-house, it was approximately 8’ X 25’ in size and was covered by a plastic tarp. A total of twenty-nine (29) mature plants were seized. The street value of the marijuana plants were estimated at $3,000 to $4,000 dollars. During a search of the residence pursuant to the search warrant, deputies found a handgun, which was not registered to the suspect.

Suspect Nicholas West, MW/22, is being booked for Cultivation of Marijuana, 11358 Health and Safety; Possession of Marijuana For Sale, 11359 Health and Safety; and Grand Theft (gun) 487 P.C. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
