MEDIA ADVISORY: School Bus Stop Arm Violation
What: Indiana State Police will be watching for stop arm violations
on Tippecanoe County School Corporation bus routes.
When: Friday, October 12, 2012 at 3:00 p.m.
Where: Battle Ground Grade School bus parking lot located at 303 Main St. in Battle Ground, IN. Media attending are asked to arrive at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the bus parking area in front of the school. Look for the Indiana State Police cars in the parking lot. Several buses travel on State Road 43 that makes several stops on that highway.
Why: To bring awareness that Indiana is serious about protecting the children getting on and off the buses. Motorists are to stop by law for the stop arm extended and the red flashing lights on the bus while children are entering and exiting the bus.
Media note: Media will be allowed to ride in the buses and/or with the troopers if they wish.
