In a continuing effort to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Compton, Compton Station deputies help to reduce gang violence through proactive law enforcement in targeted gang areas.

On October 4, 2012, at approximately 2016 hours, Compton deputies were patrolling the 300 Block of West Arbutus Street, Compton, in an effort to reduce graffiti. The deputies saw a known criminal street gang member spray painting graffiti all over a private residence in the city of Compton. The suspect was spray painting his gang name and moniker on various walls of the residence. The home owner did not even know the crime was taking place. The deputies arrested the suspect for felony vandalism.
