The Marietta Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) is currently investigating a serious injury accident which occurred at 12:05PM on October 8, 2012 on Interstate 75 North at the South Marietta Parkway. Initial on scene investigation reveals that a Jeep Wrangler and a Dodge Pickup were involved in a collision resulting in the Jeep overturning and the driver being ejected. The driver of the Jeep was transported to Kennestone Hospital in critical condition with life threatening injuries. Three right lanes where shut down for just under 2 hours while the accident was investigated but are now reopened. All names are currently being withheld pending the investigation.
