Another Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest
Jackson County: Yesterday afternoon Master Trooper Stephen Wheeles stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and located approximately 17 pounds of marijuana.  At approximately 2:00 p.m. yesterday M/Tpr. Stephen Wheeles was patrolling I-65 in Jackson County when he stopped a 2007 Chrysler 300 near the 55 mile marker on the southbound side.  During the course of the traffic stop M/Tpr. Wheeles noticed a strong odor of marijuana radiating from the passenger compartment. He walked his K-9 partner, Kane around the vehicle who alerted indicating the presence of drugs.  During a subsequent search he located 26 individually wrapped packages of marijuana hidden in the two rear doors of the vehicle with a total weight of approximately 17 pounds.  Arrested was the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, 22 year old Loniquel Trachelle Hoskins of Houston, TX.  She was transported to the Jackson County Jail without incident and is now facing charges of Dealing in Marijuana-Over 10 Pounds (Class C Felony) and Possession of Marijuana-Over 10 grams (Class D Felony).
Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
