On September 28, 2012, at about 2207 hours, deputies from Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a motorcycle vs. pedestrian accident at Chevy Chase
Drive and Foothill Blvd., La Canada Flintridge.
According to witnesses, the 14 year-old male victim attempted to cross northbound on Foothill Blvd. against a red light when he was struck by a motorcycle traveling westbound on Foothill Blvd. from Angeles Crest Highway.
The victim was carried approximately 50 feet before becoming dislodged from the motorcycle’s windshield and falling to the street.
The motorcyclist eventually struck the center median, where the rider was thrown into the street.
Both parties were treated at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics (Engine 19) before being transported to a local hospital via ambulance.
The pedestrian suffered a broken femur and collapsed lung. The motorcyclist suffered injuries to his jaw and face. The pedestrian’s parents were notified immediately after the incident and responded to the hospital.
