Naked Ohio Man Leads
State Police on Short Vehicle Pursuit
(Huntington County, IN)-A 42 year old man from Ohio is in the Huntington County jail and faces numerous charges after leading an Indiana State Trooper on a short pursuit earlier yesterday morning on I-69.
According to Master Trooper Gary Shenefield, yesterday at approximately 8:40 a.m., he was on routine patrol on northbound I-69 near the 279 mile marker when he saw a red Pontiac Grand Prix parked on the side of the road. Shenefield parked his patrol car behind the Grand Prix and walked up to the passenger door where he saw 42 year old Chad A. Knoll from Montpelier, Ohio sitting in the driver’s seat, naked and masturbating.
As Shenefield was radioing for assistance, Knoll tried to start his vehicle, which was already running, and against verbal orders to stop, put the car into drive and sped away. Shenefield, with his emergency lights and siren activated, chased after Knoll northbound on I-69. Knoll pulled his vehicle back off of the roadway at the 283 mile marker where he was immediately taken into custody by Shenefield.
Knoll was taken to Parkview Huntington Hospital before being cleared for incarceration at the Huntington County Jail in lieu of a $14,000 bond on the following charges:
• Resisting Law Enforcement, Class D Felony
• Operating While Intoxicated under Controlled Substance, Class C Misdemeanor
• Public Nudity, Class C Misdemeanor
All Suspects Are Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty in a Court of Law
