Narrative:
On 9/24/2012 Travis Laplant was arrested for Assault & Robbery. The victim, a 23 year-old female was purchasing fuel at the Champlain Farms on Shelburne Road when the incident occurred. The victim went inside of the store to pay for her fuel and returned to her vehicle and observed Laplant walking away from her vehicle with her purse in his possession. The victim chased Laplant north on Shelburne Road catching up with him at the intersection of Shelburne Road and Prospect Parkway where she was struck in the face by Laplant. Another Burlington resident attempting to assist the victim was also struck in the face by Laplant and was transported to FAHC for an injury to his eye. Laplant fled the scene running north on Shelburne Road. Laplant eventually turned west cutting through backyards in a residential neighborhood. Laplant was located by Police at the Cumberland Farms on Pine Street approximately 20 minutes after the incident occurred. Laplant was lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility pending arraignment. This incident appears to be random in nature.
