Drunk Driver Collides with Pedestrian 
On the evening of September 14th, Century Station deputies were flagged down regarding a female pedestrian who had just been struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Pendleton Avenue, in the city of Lynwood.
The vehicle which struck the female victim then sped away southbound on Atlantic Avenue.
Deputies caught up with the vehicle and detained the driver regarding a driving under the influence and hit-and-run investigation. During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle acknowledged that he struck the victim and that he had to get away. The driver exhibited slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, poor dexterity, and other objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.
The victim suffered significant injuries to her head and legs, and was transported to a local hospital.
The suspect was arrested for driving under the influence causing injury, and hit and run.
