The Newark Police Department provides home security checks for people who are away on vacation or other reason that takes you away from your home for an extended absence. To request this service, pick up a form from Newark Police Department Records Unit front counter, which is open to serve the public Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The R.A.V.E.N. (Ready Active Volunteers Engaged in Newark) volunteers will check on your home and immediately contact the Police Department if anything criminal or suspicious is noted.
