At 4:16am, on Friday, September 07, 2012, BPD officers (Downtown) responded to a call for a person shot in the Public Garden

At about 4:16am, on Friday, September 07, 2012, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a call for a person shot in the Boston Public Garden.
On arrival, officers located a male victim, in his fifties, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Tufts Medical Center where he listed in stable condition.
The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call District A-1 detectives at (617) 343-4248.
At this time it cannot be determined if there is any ongoing threat to our community.
Community members are advised to:
• Be aware of their surroundings at all times.
• Always travel with another person at night.
• Travel in well light areas.
