Community Alert - Small Gas Line Break on Elkhorn Court - Issue has been Handled - No Current Danger to the Community

San Mateo Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of 20th Ave. and Elkhorn Court on a reported gas line break. Elkhorn Court was secured, two nearby occupied buildings were evacuated for precautionary reasons, and a rapid notification phone message was sent out to the immediate area advising people in the area to shelter in place. SMFD and SMPD worked in a Unified Command with San Mateo Public Works and PG&E at the scene. The duration of this incident was just over 60 minutes, and there is no danger to the community at this time.
There were no injuries involved, and PG&E reported no service interruptions.
