ROADSIDE SAFETY CHECK IN THE GRESHAM (006TH) DISTRICT 
The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the Gresham (006th) District at 432 West 87th Street. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 and end at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012.
During roadside safety checks, police officers slow down traffic, stop cars at regular intervals and watch for drivers who show signs of alcohol impairment and other violations as noted below.
“This program is conducted year round to ensure drivers are operating their vehicles safely,” said Superintendent, Garry F. McCarthy. “This is part of an ongoing strategy to keep the city
streets safe for Chicago’s residents and commuters.”
The Roadside Safety Check conducted in the Deering (009th) District on August 23-24, 2012 resulted in the following:

Non-Traffic Arrests 4 – 1 - Warrant
