Compton Station Deputies along with the Gang Detail, recover a rifle and narcotics from operation. 
In a continuing effort to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Compton, Compton Station deputies conducted a gang suppression operation. The purpose of this operation was to reduce gang violence through proactive law enforcement in targeted gang areas.
On August 25, 2012, at approximately 1625 hours, Compton deputies conducted a probation compliance check in the city of Compton. A small-bore sporting rifle, ammunition, and methamphetamine were recovered. The suspect, who was a member of a Compton criminal street gang and currently on probation for illegally possessing a firearm, was arrested.
Compton deputies undoubtedly prevented further gang violence and increased the safety for the community we serve.
