Traffic Collision damages lamp standard and a fire hydrant causing two deaths and serveral injuries.

On Wednesday August 23rd, 2012, at approximately 8:25 P.M., a Traffic Collision vehicle vs. fire hydrant and power pole occurred in the community of North Hollywood, California. A 2012 Chevy Traverse traveling westbound on Magnolia Blvd negotiated a right turn from the left turn lane of Magnolia Blvd and loss control of the vehicle. The vehicle ran off the roadway and collided with a fire hydrant and a light pole located on the northwest corner of Ben Ave at Magnolia Blvd. As a result of the collision, water emerged from the fire hydrant and came into contact with the downed power lines. Two females approached the northwest corner in an attempt to render aid to the motorist inside the 2012 Chevy Traverse when they became into contact with the water and live power lines. The two females died as a result of the injuries sustained from the down power lines. Approximately eight citizens attempted to help the females including the driver of the Chevy Traverse and a Los Angeles Police Officer. The eight citizens who came into contact with the electrical charged water also sustained injuries.

All parties injured were transported to local hospitals. One of the deceased females was identified as 40 year-old, Irma Zamora from the city of Burbank. The other female decedent has not been identified; next of kin notification is pending.
