On August 25, 2012, the Escondido Police Department, Victory Outreach Church, Resurrection Church, other local churches, members of neighborhood groups and other residents are participating in a Peace March.
The Peace March is intended to send a message that Escondido is a great city which we love and believe in.
Yes, our community is united! We work together to reduce violence, improve our neighborhoods, and create an even safer Escondido for our children.
Be part of the solution. Join us in sending a message to gang members and other criminals that their criminal conduct is not welcomed in Escondido.
The Peace March will begin at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Victory Outreach Church located at 1131 East Washington Avenue, Escondido, and conclude at Resurrection Church located at 1445 Conway Drive, Escondido, where they will be hosting their annual festival.
Police department traffic officers will escort the march the entire route which will be along Ash Street to El Norte Parkway and east to Conway Drive.
Transportation will be provided at Resurrection Church back to the Victory Outreach parking lot.
There will be t-shirts for sale. T-shirts will be available for $10 the day of the march at Victory Outreach where the march begins. The white t-shirt reads, “I Love My City” on the front and “Summer 2012 Escondido” on the back. If you do not purchase a shirt, we ask that you wear a white shirt.
