Suspicious persons in a vehicle reported near The Tot Spot in North Riverside on Saturday 8/18/12.

On Saturday August 18, 2012, a 15 year old boy reported that a suspicious subject in a vehicle approached him while he was riding his bicycle in the 2300 block of S 14th Ave. The boy reported that a subject in a van, which was parked on the street, called him over to the van. The boy immediately rode away and called the police. He also reported that he had observed another subject in a Ronald McDonald costume peak his head out of the van window.

The vehicle was described as white in color, newer model, work style van. The driver was described as a male black in his 30's wearing a purple shirt, a backwards cap, and a scruffy beard. The van left the area before police arrived.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the North Riverside Police Department at 708-447-9191.

Parents are strongly encouraged to remind their children not to approach strange persons and/or vehicles and to contact the Police Dept. immediately if they observe anything suspicious.
