Marijuana Compliance Check Has Resulted In One Arrest And The Eradication Of 84 Marijuana Plants

Public Information Release
August 8, 2012
Sergeant Steve Brooks, Public Information Officer

A marijuana compliance check in the Middletown area on July 31, 2012 has resulted in one arrest and the seizure of 84 marijuana plants.

On July 31, 2012 at approximately 1048 hrs, the Lake County Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force and Lake County Code Enforcement conducted a marijuana compliance check at an address on Sheveland Road in Middletown. When detectives arrived they located 84 marijuana plants, which were growing outside. Detectives contacted the resident, 26 year old Joseph Andrew Lamoureux, of Middletown. Lamoureux said he was growing the marijuana for a collective based in the Los Angeles area and provided sixteen medical recommendations for the detectives to review. He also said that he did not know any of the subjects listed on the recommendations. Lamoureux was unable to provide his own medical recommendation and stated that it was at his attorney’s office being photocopied.

The marijuana grow site was determined to be in violation of Lake County Ordinance 2977 and all of the marijuana plants were eradicated. Lamoureux was arrested for cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. He was transported to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility and booked.

The Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force will continue its efforts to eradicate narcotics from the communities of Lake County and seize the suspected profits of drug trafficking for the asset forfeiture whenever possible. Anyone with information that can assist the Task Force with this effort is encouraged to call the anonymous tip line at 263-3663.
