Beware of a Door to Door Solicitation Scam occuring in the area. Scam involves sale of children's books to benefit local hospitals.

Stuart Police has received a report of a door to door solicitation scam occurring in the area.
Specifically a female identifying herself as "Angelica Germain" is attempting to sell children's books and claiming that the proceeds will go to pediatric care at local hospitals. Scams have been reported in California, Arizona and Colorado in which the exact same name and story was used by solicitors. "Germain" also claims to be a college student.
Stuart Police warns residents not to become victims of this apparent scam, and in general recommends the following: do not open your door for solicitors, never let them in your home, do not give them personal information, and post a "No Solicitation" sign on your property. City of Stuart Ordinances prohibit residential solicitation if a "No Solicitation" sign is posted.
If you are visited by a solicitor using this or any other scheme which you suspect to be a scam call the Stuart Police Department at 772-287-1122 to report the solicitors in your area.
