EXPECT CONGESTION/DELAYS IN THE AREA OF TURNER STADIUM (W. CLAYTON BOTH DIRECTIONS) STARTING 7/28 to 8/4 from 6:30A - 5:00P - JR OLYMPICS
As of last count the are over 10,800 athletes competing in the Jr. Olympic Track & Field events. This count DOES NOT include spectators. The approximation of spectators is 1.5 to every athlete. Numbers in attendance could reach over 20,000.
The games begin daily at 8:00 AM starting on Saturday, July 28th. The AAU estimates that the bulk of the attendance will be Monday, July 30th. and Tuesday, July 31st. Heavy traffic can be expected in the area for the duration of the games. Major roadways affected by this traffic will include:
Will Clayton Parkway from Hwy 59 to Atascocita Road
Wilson Road from 1960 E to BW 8.
