On July 25, 2012 at 7:26 pm, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a man who was just shot near the 4100 block of Snyder Lane in Rohnert Park. Deputies found the victim, a 30 year old from Santa Rosa, who sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and hand. The victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

The victim and suspect were friends and had recently worked together. During an argument, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. The suspect fled after the shooting and was possibly seen driving in a black BMW sedan with tinted windows. The suspect was identified as Alejandro Barragan Valencia, a 22 year old from Mexico, who is currently residing in Santa Rosa. Valencia should be considered armed and dangerous.

The case is being investigated by the Sonoma County Violent Crimes Investigations Unit. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Detective Brandon Cutting at (707) 565-2185.
