Deputies Search & Find Teen Shooting Suspect Thurs.- LASD Norwalk

A shooting at 5:30PM, Thursday, July 12, resulted in the death of an 18-year old teen and a search and arrest by Norwalk sheriff's deputies of a 15-year old.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives responded to the intersection of Rosecrans Avenue and Pontlavoy Avenue, Norwalk, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man.

Detectives learned that Norwalk Station deputies responded to a man with a knife call at Ramona Park, Norwalk, when they heard gun shots coming from nearby Pontlavoy Avenue.

As deputies canvassed the area, they found an 18 year-old man who had been shot several times. He was transported to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

During the search of the area, deputies located the 15 year-old subject, hiding under a parked vehicle at a nearby residence. He was arrested and booked for murder at Norwalk Sheriff's Station, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The shooting is believed to be gang related.

Norwalk Sheriff’s Station Deputies are actively searching an area of Norwalk near Pontlavoy Avenue and Rosecrans Avenue for a shooting suspect.

The suspect, described as a male Hispanic in his teens with multiple tattoos was last seen fleeing from the shooting of an 18 year old Hispanic man which occurred at 3:15 P.M. today on the 14300 block Pontlavoy Avenue.

The suspect should not be approached and is considered armed and dangerous.

If you see the suspect, call 9-1-1.
