FHPD is investigating a night-time burglary of an occupied apartment in the Windemere Apartment complex.

FHPD is investigating a night-time burglary of an occupied apartment in the Windemere Apartment complex, located in the area of Halsted Road and Grand River Avenue. The suspect entered the apartment through an open window, where he cut the window screen to enter. The apartment owner was confronted by the suspect, at which time the suspect fled the apartment. The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, in his early 30's, dressed in all black clothing and black knit cap.

FHPD offers the followiing crime prevention tips:
- Secure doors and windows when possible, whether home or not.
- Stay alert to all suspicious persons and activities occuring in your neighborhood and call 9-1-1 whenever you observe such activity.

Residents are asked to please call the police Command Desk with any information they may have regarding this matter. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
