Alameda Fire Launches Non-Emergency Ambulance Service
The City of Alameda Fire Department now offers non-emergency ambulance transport for patients who need to be transported to or from medical facilities. This service is offered Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Non-emergency transports can be scheduled by calling 510-337-2155.
The Alameda Fire Department has provided emergency ambulance service for more than 30 years. Until now the only non-emergency ambulance service available to Alamedans has been from private companies located outside the City. The Department’s new program offers local and reliable service by professional medical technicians.
When a hospital or other medical facility needs this service for a patient, they can call the Alameda Fire Department. The Department is working with Alameda Hospital and other medical facilities in Alameda to develop primary provider relationships.
