Juvenile Arrest, SVPD Officer Injured
Simi Valley P.D. Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3200 block of Waco Ave. regarding a family dispute. Prior to their arrival, the officers received an update that a 17 year old male suspect was actively fighting with family members and had just fled the residence on foot.
Upon arrival, the suspect was seen jumping a wall into the front yard of a residence on Greenville Ave. north of Kadota St. Officers attempted to detain the suspect, but he pulled away and resisted. The suspect sustained minor abrasions during his arrest and was transported to Simi Valley Hospital for treatment.
While being treated in the E.R., the suspect became combative with an officer while attempting to escape custody. The officer sustained a fractured left arm during the struggle and was treated at the hospital.
The suspect fled from the hospital and an area perimeter was established. The suspect was taken into custody in the 2500 block of Wanda Ave. after a brief foot pursuit.
The suspect sustained additional abrasions during his second arrest and was treated at the hospital. He was booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Hall for an outstanding no bail juvenile narcotics warrant, resisting arrest, and felony battery on a peace officer. The incident is being investigated by the Simi Valley P.D. Detective Unit.
The name of the injured Officer is not being released at this time.
The name of the 17 year old male arrestee is also being withheld. He was booked at Juvenile Hall.
