On Friday, June 15, residents of Compton were able to enjoy a Movie at Lueders Park. Over 800 residents and community members came out to Lueders Park for a fun filled night which included a movie with popcorn, hotdogs, and soda all for free. The event was sponsored by Compton Sheriff’s Station, Compton Parks and Recreation, and Faith Inspirational Church. The festivities began with a mini concert provided by Faith Inspirational choir. The atmosphere was filled joy and excitement. A father, while holding his daughter in one arm and holding his hot dog in the other said “it is great to watch a movie in the park after dark, and know everyone is safe.” The movie in the park series moves to Gonzales Park on the third Friday on July.
